I just want to mention the passing of Tony Snow from Colon Cancer. I admired him and my prayers are with his family on their loss.
Well everyone in the Berthiaume household is anxious for tomorrow. The first phase of Beast summer is over. Today was the Field Day competition for all the Basics/Doolies/Beasts. Tomorrow is Doolie Day Out. While at the Academy each Cadet has a sponsor out in the community. On Doolie Day Out the Cadets get to go to their sponsors house from 0900 - 1700 hrs. 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM for you civilian types. So tomorrow, let the phone calls begin. We are all biting at the bit to hear from the horses mouth.
Monday AM the Basics head off on a 5 mile march to Jack's Valley. While at Jacks, Sam will help erect and live in a 10 person tent. The Cadets will be doing weapons training, confidence course and all that good down, dirty and military stuff. This phase of training will last 18 days. For those who make it through Jacks, recognition into the Cadet Wing will take place in early August.
Classes begin August 7.
But for now, here's tomorrow's schedule. Good night all! By the way, the Captain (Kathryn) is on active duty this weekend @ DAFB. Sleep tight, we're safe. Thanks Kathy!!!!!!!!!
