Finally back!!

The Rooster Crows in Eden

11 June 2014

So my question to myself is, where the hell you been Fidd? Looking back it was 23 March that my fingers last contacted the keys. I'm thinking the weather finally broke to the good, I got outside and started doing things that needed to be done. Grass, and the growth of it became one factor. Besides my own yard, one acre of it, I have my daughter and son in-law, absentee homeowners they are. She off to Baltimore and other Maryland parts, he off to some God forsaken country half way around the world.

At the moment Jeff is in Mississippi (the Sip), with Abby for orientation for the start of college @ the Dawg Pound, that would be Mississippi State University. Abby has graduated from High School and shall (at the moment) pursue a degree in Psyc/Soc.

Abby and her five sister's on Prom night.

Kathryn in Baltimore, so it's me, the dog, cat and fish in charge.

Sara's eldest, Rachael has graduated from Salisbury University, Congrats Ray, with a degree in Education. She has applications out there in various locations and will be teaching in a summer program at her Alma Matter, The Salisbury School for the summer.

Sarah is spending time on the road, Charlotte, Columbia, SC, the Emerald Coast of Florida, NYC to name a few. She as many of you know, sells seafood for Phillips Seafood out of Baltimore.

The Emerald Coast

The Davies' family should increase in size by one in a few weeks. Zed is still in flight school with completion scheduled for 1 August. On that date he will find out what aircraft he will fly and where.
Sam has been a little Trooper lugging Mia home to Maryland for Abby's graduation, Abby accompanied her back to Mississippi on 31 May and the next day Sam, Mia and Abby made a road trip to Dayton, OH for a week long school for Sam. Aunt Abby became a Hotel Room Mom for the week. Yep, Abby's a Trooper also.

Both Samantha and Zed were recently promoted to 1'st Lieutenant, congratulations guys, and thank you for your service!

Below are some recent pictures of the Davies' family.

10 August 2014

So, another two months have slid on by and I still haven't gone to press. Earlier today I came upon an E. B. White picture and quote and it motivated me.

Jeff has been to Israel, Pakistan and Moldova recently. He got to spend a week back in the states and is calling Brussels, Belgium home this week. There is quite a good selection of Beers in that country I'm told.

So Abby has graduated High School, completed a Biology class @ Mississippi State, moved into her fall dorm and is into the college life.

Rachael Has graduated College, taught a summer program at The Salisbury School and is now looking for permanent work. Here's Rachael and Mary Agnes on graduation day in May.

Tommy has been busy House Sitting, working as a landscape Coolie and anxiously awaiting the start of Soccer practice. This is a photo of Tommy when he went to Mississippi with Kathy and Jeff for Abby's start to College life. Zed took Tommy fishing one day.

Samantha has given birth to daughter #2, her full name is Anaston Brielle Davies and she was born July 1'st. Mia just continues to grow.

Here's Mia with her sister Ana

Zed has been selected to fly the E-3 AWACS, http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-3_Sentry and will be assigned to Tinker, AFB,Oklahoma http://www.tinker.af.mil Zed will first head off to Fairchild, AFB, Washington http://fairchild.af.mil for SERE training. http://www.baseops.net/militarybooks/usafsurvival.html

His official graduation date is Friday August 15'th.

For the immediate future Sam shall remain in Columbus and await her orders sending her to who knows where. Stay tuned for the rest of the story. Below Miss Mia & Miss Ana.

Matt and Beth have been to Ireland, Ree, Granny, Mary Agnes, whatever, house and kid sat for them while they were traveling. David has done a summer semester in Montreal @ Champlaine's campus there. Jill and Rebecca performed in the play 'Wizard of Oz” http://articles.courant.com/2014-07-16/reminder-news/rnw-rr-tolland-wizard-of-oz-20140717_1_cast-volunteers-good-witch

Ree (Mary Agnes) and I are blessed with good health, happy that we have children and grandchildren close by and thank the good Lord for a wonderful life on the Eastern Shore. I've been taking care of the Yacht Club Pool once again, doing some house sitting and staying out of trouble. Football season can not come soon enough.

Granny does a bit of house keeping here and there, takes in some laundry and has made a quilt or two. Kind of like following in her Irish ancestor's footsteps.

Life is good, no complaints and Semper Fi to all.
