070708 The evening.

What a great day, foggy early am, reminded us of Ireland. You can see the mist rolling in with the picture of Matt and Jill on the beach at Chappaquiddick. Mary Agnes and I didn't spend a lot of time on the beach.

We headed off to Edgartown, lunch first off, at the Seafood Shanty. We got seats on the upper deck overlooking Edgartown Harbor. We split a huge order of Calamari with Sweet Salsa dressing. I got a Greek salad and M.A. got a Martha's Vineyard Sushi platter, Salmon, Yellow Fin Tuna and spicy Mayo. We washed it all down with a couple of ice cold beers.

After lunch it was an hour of window shopping in all the quaint stores in the town. Yes we even spent a dollar or two to help the economy. I must add we went into our third Black Dog store, Bill Clinton wold be proud of us. With the flip flop in the economic picture that exists we encountered many Europeans. A lot of English, French and Spanish with a smattering of German and Scandinavian. Most of the work force, much like Ocean City was Eastern European.

After shopping I took M.A. to the Harbor View Hotel. The Harbor View is Edgartown's answer to the Grand Hotel in MI. The first photo is of the hotel. I had stayed here 8 years ago on a trip with the Brady's. Of course we had to have a glass of wine on the porch. It was so gorgeous, with a nice breeze coming off the water to keep you comfortable. M.A. is standing in front of the hotel and across the street with the light house and harbor in the background. By the way, in case you haven't already discovered, just left click on the pictures in the Blog and they automatically enlarge.

Matt Beth and kids returned from the beach around 6:00. We gave them a night off, they're now out on a date for dinner and whatever. We fed the kids, they watched the movie Monster Inc. and now the night is winding down. Two in bed, two to go.

Tomorrow night we've all been invited to a cook out at a co-worker's of Matt. Apparently the home is his in-laws and Matt looked up value on Zillow. The home sits high up on the Atlantic and is valued at 5.5 mil. I'll try and sneak a picture or two. It should be quite an evening's experience.
